There are no cash refunds or cancellations of entry fees.
In regards to entry fees, athletes who miss the competition due to illness or injury may receive a deferral certificate that can be used as a credit for future Bay State Games participation provided that they provide a physicians note verifying the illness or injury. This deferral certificate can only be used by the participant originally registered. The value of the certificate will be the amount originally paid by the participant to be in the Games.
In regards to Finalist fees, for Baseball, Basketball Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, Swimming and Track & Field, if an athlete pays their finalist fee and cannot participate in the finals due to illness, injury or for any other reason, the finalist fee will be refunded only if that athletes spot can be replaced on the roster. Requests for refunds of team sport final fees will only be considered prior to the start of the finals competition for your sport.
Any athlete removed from a team due to disciplinary reason by a coach, official or Bay State Games representative will not receive any refund of entry or finalist fees.
Sports utilizing outdoor sites are subject to inclement weather. Competitions will be conducted unless game officials, facility managers, medical staff and/or Bay State Games staff declare conditions potentially dangerous or a threat to bodily harm. Due to facility and scheduling conflicts, the Bay State Games has little or no rain dates. Inclement weather may force changes in the tournament format or number of games each team plays. With few exceptions, games lost due to inclement weather will not be re-scheduled and they will be cancelled. There will be no refunds given if events are cancelled due to weather.
